San Diego, CA - (March 9, 2006) -
In response to more than 41 million cases of credit and
identity theft, the Institute of Consumer Financial
Education (ICFE) has developed the "ICFE Certified
Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist" educational and
certification program. Pioneer Services Representatives
will be taking part in the training so they can assist
military families in protecting themselves from this
growing crime.
"Both of our organizations are committed to enhancing
financial education and supporting fiscal fitness," said
Paul Richard, Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) and
executive director of the ICFE. "We applaud the support of
Pioneer Services, and based on their commitment in
enrolling more than 300 of their associates in the ICFE
Certified Credit Report Reviewer program, I am confident
this additional program will assist them in helping
thousands of military families."
The goal of the certification program is to
comprehensively prepare and equip "specialists" with the
knowledge and skills necessary to help consumers minimize
their present risk of credit and identity theft.
"Every Pioneer Services location will have at least one
Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist by the
end of the summer," said Randy McKee, president and senior
Pioneer Services Representative. "After reviewing more
than a million credit bureau reports, Pioneer Services
Representatives can best help military families if we can
improve our knowledge and techniques necessary to reduce
their chances of becoming a victim."
Founded in 1982 as a non-profit, public education
organization based in San Diego, the ICFE is an official
partner with the Department of Defense and its Financial
Readiness Campaign. Working with ICFE to help military
families protect themselves from identity and credit theft
is another way that Pioneer Services works to enhance
their quality-of-life and financial independence. Through
a network of offices and on the Internet, Pioneer Services
Representatives offer financial education programs, loans,
and insurance products, and support military families and
communities through a variety of partnerships, programs,
and sponsorships.
