San Diego, CA - Annual
continuing education requirements are a fact of life for
many professionals who hold state licenses for teaching or
nursing and also for selling insurance and securities.
Continuing education units (CEUs) are also required of
people who have earned a professional designation, such as
RFC - Registered Financial Consultant, which is overseen
by the International Association of Registered Financial
Consultants (IARFC). The IARFC is to financial planners,
what the Society of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs)
are to their members. CEUs are required by these
professional organizations from the members in order to
maintain their designations and be able to display them
after their name on business cards and letterheads.
The San Diego based, award winning, Institute of Consumer
Financial Education, has certification, credit and
budgeting education programs that are accepted for
continuing education units by a variety of professional
organizations nationwide. Among the numerous professional
organizations are the IARFC, for Certified financial
planners, (CFPs), the CFP Board of Standards and
Practices, the National Association of Certified Credit
Counselors (NACCC), and the Association for Counseling and
Planning Education (AFCPE) to mention a few. Applications
are pending before many other state and national groups.
